Eavor's Geretsried project is far more than a single power plant. It is the first full-scale field test of a new geothermal archetype. By systematically eliminating the historical risks of geothermal energy, it aims to prove that closed-loop technology can deliver bankable, socially acceptable, and globally scalable baseload heat and power. Its success or failure will not only determine Eavor's future but will also signal whether "geothermal anywhere" can move from a compelling theory to a cornerstone of the world's deep decarbonization efforts.
